Last week four OCSD students presented to school board leaders and district leaders from across the state during the annual OSBA conference. They shared their perspectives and experiences from serving on the Superintendent Student Advisory Committee.

The Pioneers finished the season with strong individual performances at the State Championship Saturday. Olivia Beaudin earned All-State honors finishing 21st out of the 147 runners, Grace Carrillo finished in 40th place. Hunter McKenzie was the 3rd Three Rivers League runner across the line, placing 46th out of 151 boys who qualified for the XC finale.
Ms. Cole's Honors Environmental Science classes at OCHS had the opportunity to go to the Environmental Learning Center at CCC on 10/14 and 10/30 to learn about Environmental Science professions! We heard from Water Environmental Services employees on how they test our river water for pollutants, manage sewer and stormwater issues, and repair wetland ecosystems to manage water quality and quantity. Students got to test Newell Creek for temperature and pH, create a model wetland, and even drive the sewer robot camera! We had fun and learned a lot!
